solarOS uses first-party preference storage for the Marketing Surface and gates optional scripts behind the visitor's choices.

Required storage

Required storage supports site delivery, security, route handoffs, and remembering whether optional categories are accepted or rejected. Required storage cannot be disabled from the consent banner because the site needs it to remember the visitor's choice.

Optional categories

Optional categories may include analytics or marketing scripts only after they are separately approved and wired into the Marketing Surface. No third-party consent vendor or optional tracking dependency is added by this launch foundation.

Privacy signals

When the browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, solarOS treats optional categories as rejected and does not load optional scripts. Visitors can still view the preference panel to understand the current state.

Changing preferences

Visitors can accept all optional categories, reject optional categories, or manage category-level preferences. Preferences are stored locally in the browser and can be changed by clearing site data or using the preference controls.
